On queues and relate network calculus to queueing theory. Marc Boyer, Euriell Le Corronc. Network calculus: a theory of deterministic queuing systems for the internet A calculus for network delay, part i: Network elements in isolation. The concepts of stochastic network calclulus parallels those of deterministic network calculus. Keywords: Network Calculus, (min,+)-algebra, service curves. We propose in this article an adaptation of the basic techniques of the deterministic network calculus theory to the road traffic flow theory. This is why I reference on the lecture of 2011. Attention: This version is no longer maintained or supported. Network calculus takes an envelope approach to describe arrivals and services in a network node. This paper surveys the state-of-the-art of the deterministic and the recent probabilistic network calculus. There is a lot of work including an elegant theory under the name of network calculus focusing on analysis of deterministic worst case QoS performance bounds.
